Wild by Design
All the shampoos that I recommend lather. If it doesn’t lather when you use it here is why and how to fix it…
Why: If you wash less often than once a week, your hair gets pretty oily and environmental debris gets trapped, along with air pollutants and what have you. This makes the shampoo/cleanser work harder to break it all down. Rather than lather the shampoo/cleanser just breaks down the oils.
Fix: Wash twice. Yup, it is that simple. Do a little scrub and make sure you get your shampoo/cleanser everywhere on your first wash. Rinse your locs (don’t worry about being thorough with this rinse). Then “soap up” again. This time your shampoo/cleanser of choice should lather beautifully.
That didn’t work? You might not be using a truly dreadlock safe shampoo, OR you need to do a thorough deep clean. Sometimes stuff gets trapped at the core of the loc that you can’t see on the surface. A good deep clean can clear that right up. (Recipe on website)

We have had an influx of inquiries about dreadlock extensions recently, and we would like to address that.
Wild by Design does NOT offer extension services. We approach dreadlocks from a natural and spiritual standpoint, not as fashion*. With that in mind, dreadlocks are a journey of patience and self love. If this is not the dreadlock route you want to take, we recommend finding a studio that better fits your needs.

I want to thank you all for your well wishes as I’ve been recovering. I appreciate your patience and understanding more than you know.
I will be slowly taking shorter appointments coming up this week, as I’m able to stand for longer periods of time now, and I will be trying to get back to all your wonderful inquiries. Almost 3 weeks out of work has made my inbox a little hectic, so bare with me.
Violet, the dreadlock designer, is currently recovering from injury, and unable to take appointments.
We would be honoured If you would like to be patient and wait for Violet to be back on her feet, but we completely understand if that isn’t an option for you.

It’s that time of year again, where everyone is going to their prospective family gatherings. This also happens to be our busiest time of the year (Nov-Jan). Please note there are no more appointments available before Thanksgiving.
If you’re trying to get your locks tidied before Christmas please hurry and send in your quote request form ASAP.

In order to provide the best services possible, I am very selective about the clients I take. If I don’t feel that we would get along, I will refer you to someone else. Everyone’s time is valuable, and life is too short.
Also, mean people suck. I am never intentionally mean or abrasive, and I expect the same from each of my clients. Disrespect of me, my studio, or my time will be followed by a warning. If disrespect continues I will remove you from my client list. All of this is done in order to make sure that everyone is healthy and happy.

All new clients are required to place a $50 deposit before their first appointment can be set and confirmed. Existing clients may need to place a deposit if there have been excessive reschedules or tardiness for appointments.
Please note that the deposit is deducted from the end service total so long as you arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
